1. The Aranet4 HOME and PRO are more accurate and responsive than other, cheaper CO₂ monitors.
The Aranet4 uses NDIR (non-dispersive infrared) technology to directly measure CO₂. Cheaper monitors use the much less accurate MOS (metal oxide semiconductor) method of measuring volatile organic compounds to only estimate CO₂ level. 2. Pairs to a smartphone or iPAD via an app or a dedicated base station via a radio link
The Aranet4 HOME pairs to the Aranet phone app via Bluetooth. In addition, the Aranet4 PRO pairs to its dedicated base station via a radio link, with up to a hundred individual units connecting to a single base station. This gives you a graphical representation of readings over time and allows you to easily see the effect of different interventions to improve ventilation. Use the Aranet4 display app and project the current CO2 level onto a display screen so that employees, customers and the general public can see the high quality of the air you are giving them to breathe. (Or, in this case, prompt them to ask you to open the window!)

Because PRO units communicate to their base station by a radio link, no wiring is needed and you can install a network of hundreds of PRO units in a large building in a day with zero disruption and minimal cost.
The battery lasts forever in both the HOME and PRO units, but the precise life obviously depends on how often you set the unit to measure CO2, whether every minute, 2 minutes, 5 minutes or 10 minutes. These are the latest (September 2021) battery life test figures from the factory:

The HOME AND PRO are identical in size and appearance and fit neatly in the palm of your hand. They look good sitting on a desk or a work surface or attached to a wall. In fact, they look so good and are so useful they have a tendency to "walk". A wall security mount can be purchased as an optional extra to prevent this.
